Here at Janet’s Planet we love to celebrate young inventors and engineers! Tell us what you have created, want to create or an idea you have for making the world better!
And to get you thinking and imagining what you might create, take a look at some of these amazing kid scientists:

This kind of “show them what’s possible” roundup is exactly what helped me when I was younger, because it makes science feel like something you can tinker with at home. I’d love a quick activity idea tied to each link (even a 10-minute version) so kids can go from reading to trying. It also reminded me of how people use palettes to make choices less overwhelming — I saw someone describe it on https://stylelooklab.com and it clicked why constraints can be so helpful for creativity.
The mix of links here is fun because it nudges you to notice patterns in how kids actually solve problems (usually small, practical stuff first). Also, the “women scientists” section is a nice reminder that representation matters early — I remember stumbling into imgg while making a silly class poster and realizing how much style and storytelling can pull people into science topics. A couple more recent examples would be neat alongside the classics.
I like how this page points kids toward real examples instead of just saying “be creative.” When I was that age, seeing a few concrete inventions made it way easier to come up with my own “what if” idea — kind of like using a handy playback speed calculator tool to make a vague plan feel doable. It’d be cool to see a section with simple prompts for different age groups, too.
What a fantastic way to inspire young minds! Celebrating creativity and innovation can lead to amazing inventions. For more resources, check out launchtory!
This Good Morning America Robin Roberts Multicolor Plaid Shirt has such a comfortable and stylish appearance. I can easily imagine wearing this during fall mornings or casual weekend outings. The colors give it a lively personality that feels unique.
